Mother/Son Filmmaking Team Sweep KY, OR & NYC; Take Top Honors
Las Vegas, Nevada – The Dynamic Duo keeps taking the indie film world by storm.
The real-life Mother and Son filmmaking team of Jack Truman and Opal Dockery took top honors at 3 film festivals across the country last week. PHONE SEX GRANDMA, the award-winning hit cult short film about a phone sex operator in a ghost town, won BEST DIRECTOR at the Oregon Film Awards. It also returned to New York City, screening at the Chashama Film Festival.
PHONE SEX GRANDMA premiered at the 2006 Slamdance Film Festival. Since its premiere, PSG has screened at over 100 film festivals worldwide, earning rave reviews.
THE OUTHOUSE, a short film documentary about a 60 year old woman and her backyard outhouse, won BEST INNOVATIVE FILMMAKER for Truman. Premiering at the 2008 Slamdance Film Festival, OUTHOUSE has screened at over 50 fests worldwide. Slamdance gave Truman $99 to make a short film under 5 minutes.
November has been one explosive month for the real-life Mother/Son filmmaking team.

Truman is a 25 year veteran of stage and screen. Dockery, a former burlesque dancer for over 20 years, is a writer and actress. The creative team tackles it all: from concept to distribution.

Opal Dockery, the star, writer and creator of An Evening With THE OLD STRIPPER, is available to colleges that want to screen the film event. A collection of award-winning short films that have screened at over 300 film festivals worldwide to a late-night mature comedy audience, past screenings have received rave reviews and standing-room only audiences at festivals which include the Slamdance Film Festival, Cinequest Film Festival, Florida Film Festival and more! On these visits, along with the screening, Opal also includes a discussion / Q & A session after the screening.
An award-winning actress, writer and poet, Opal made her screen debut in the hit comedy smash PHONE SEX GRANDMA. She has a Master's degree in Criminal Justice, and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology.

Dixie Productions is seeking crew members and interns for JUNK STORE, a feature film comedy about a Mother and Son's junk store in a small Southern ghost town. A modern day Sanford and Son-style comedy, shot in a CLERKS/ANDY GRIFFITH style, from the real-life award-winning Mother/Son filmmaking team of Jack Truman and Opal Dockery.

Crew needed for ultra-low budget feature film documentary THE OLD STRIPPER, a film about a 60-something former burlesque dancer from the 1970’s and 80’s, Opal Dockery, who takes a cross-country road trip visiting the cities on her old burlesque circuit. As Opal travels the country to discover the changes over the years, she also visits and interviews people living in those cities that remember the theater there in their town. An eye-opening film, THE OLD STRIPPER opens the public’s eyes to a lost era of adult entertainment.
Various positions are available throughout the country for the road trip chapter of the film. Seeking production help in New York City, Pennslyvania, Ohio, Chicago, and Washington, D.C.
